The 5 Summer Makeup Trends I'm Living For
Hey y’all, Cassi here again! It’s happening!! Slowly things are starting to open up again and people are able to emerge from the confinement of their own homes, practicing safe social distancing (I hope). With that being said, none of us have had to worry about people seeing our faces outside of the weekly virtual happy hour or zoom work meeting. But that is hopefully going to be behind us soon, so it has me thinking about summer makeup! I wanted to share with you 5 of my favorite summer 2020 makeup trends that I personally am living for. There are a lot of them out there, some more bold than others but I think these are a nice mix that hopefully you will love too.
Blue Eye Shadow- I know I know, your mind just went to the infamous MiMi from the Drew Carey Show, but hear me out. If you stay away from the brighter, colbalt blues and stick to the pastel, icy blues, this look can be really cool and gorgeous. Check out how stunning Mandy Moore looks rocking it. If you are still a little hesitant, try it on just the outer creases and avoid taking it all over the lid. This is a really fun summer color!
White Eyeliner- This is another one for my edgier ladies out there that like to try new fun things. And what better time than now to do it. White eyeliner has long been used by makeup artists as a trick to make client’s eyes look bigger and brighter. This is just a new spin on it. Just softly line your top lid with it for a fun summer look, or if you are still a little hesitant, try just your lower inner lash line. Come on, live a little. 😉
Matte Coral Lips- This beautiful coral shade is a nice break from the red lips we are used to seeing in the fall and winter. Don’t get me wrong, I love a red lip and tend to rock it all year long, but this is something fun and different. Normally with a bolder lip I tend to keep it simple on the eyes, but this shade is the perfect balance and allows you to still wear a heavier eye if you choose to.
Glossy Lips- My lip gloss is poppin’…again! This is another trend that has made its way back around the block. It’s beautiful and refreshing for summer. Luckily, makeup companies have finally mastered this trend and managed to achieve the same look with out the sticky mess. I love glossed lips and they literally go with anything.
Bare Skin- With the heat rising in the summer, people tend to want to ditch the heavy foundations, contours and blushes. Try going for a lightweight tinted moisturizer and a cream highlighter for a more natural looking glow. A bare face is a nice break from they heaviness we are used to. The no makeup makeup look is still a hard one to achieve but nice to try. Let that natural skin rock!
